Con la chiusura della Chimera Creative, l'articolo di Micheal S. Miller "a manifest on Mastery" ha cambiato locazione. Piuttosto che limitarmi a correggere il link nel thread dove avevo dato per la prima volta l'elenco dei thread utili per LMVcP, ho pensato fosse più opportuno ripostare il tutto in un thread dedicato.

Un breve articolo di Czege (pubblicato sul volume del MIT "Second Person : Role-Playing and Story in Games and Playable Media"), in cui parla del protagonismo nei gdr e della genesi del gioco: "My Life with Master: The Architecture of Protagonism"

Czege è sempre stato un fautore dello sviluppo dei giochi in pubblico, per aiutare altri designers e per avere più imput possibile (non a caso è uno dei creatori dell'Ashcan Front), e dopo la pubblicazione del gioco ha reso pubblico il forum che ha usato per gestire il playtesting del gioco: My Life With Master Playtest, dove potrete leggere delle prime prove che hanno portato alla struttura attuale del gioco.

il forum ufficiale su The Forge è questo:  Half Meme Press. E' una miniera di risposte a un sacco di domande sul gioco (che potete comunque fare anche qui, così vi rispondiamo in italiano...   :wink:  )

Ed ecco infine gli actual play che ho trovato personalmente più utili (in altre parole, quelli che ho nei bookmark), ce ne sono cpmunque molti altri in questi due forum e nel forum generalista "Actual Play" di The Forge, troppi per linkarli tutti.

Dovendo fare diverse demo de La Mia Vita Col Padrone, ho fatto qualche indagine su The Forge, e ho trovato QUESTO  ottimo post di Michael S. Miller (l'autore di "A manifesto on Mastery") che copio-incollo qui, visto che può servire a tutti il sapere come riuscire a fare una partita di LMVcP in una serata. (col copia-incolla si sono persi i link, ma li ritrovate andando al post originale)

Actual Play records:

All these games came in under four hours, because I tolerate NO dilly-dallying at the table. Master & Setting Creation in 20 minutes, Minion Creation in 25 minutes, Rules Overview and quick bathroom break in 15 minutes, and you're running the first scene one hour from the start of the session. I've got a few handouts I use to make this go smoothly. I'll send them to you tonight, if you like.

After that, the game runs like a well-oiled machine. Just go around the table: "What's your scene: A) Overture, B) Violence/Villainy in doing the Master's bidding, or C) reporting back to the Master and receiving new Command?" We play out each scene a little, roll the dice, finish off the scene, and BAM, head to the next person. by the end of your 4 hour session, the Master will be dead and your players will be saying "Whoa. That was awesome."

I urge you NOT to skip Master, Setting & Minion Creation, John. They are what makes the rest of it work so very, very well. Show up at the table with blank character sheets, an open mind, and a willingness to push people (both from a "push their emotional buttons" angle, and a "push them to keep from dawdling" angle), and this game will amaze you.

My rules of thumb for a 4 hour game:
for 2 minions: Fear 3, Reason 2, 1 point of Love to start, one Innocent
for 3 minions: Fear 3, Reason 3, 1 point of Love to start, one Innocent
for 4-5 minions: Fear 2, Reason 3, 1 point of Love to start, one Innocent
